INVESTING IN HIGHLAND’S EDUCATION
Foundation Offers Annual Scholarships to Seniors
Thanks to the generous support of several planned giving donors, in 2023, The Highland Foundation awarded 54 scholarships worth a total of $78,962 to graduating seniors and previous renewable scholarship winners.
College Now Services
The Foundation has funded this initiative for the past ten years. College Now increases college attainment through college access and success advising, financial aid counseling and scholarship services. Appointments are held at the high school for parents and students. In 2021-22, College Now served 335 students through 55 individual sessions (62% of which included one or more parents) and 8 group presentations. Most students were served in groups, with 60% of freshmen and 40% of seniors participating in classroom workshops on career exploration and financial aid, respectively. A virtual scholarships presentation was also offered, which was attended by 40 families of senior students.
